Observe Humpback whales in the beautiful, peaceful waters of Bora Bora

It is possible from approximately July to October of every year. In 2022, the Environment Department authorises whale watching from August 1st to October 31th 2022. The Humpback whales make an incredible journey from Antarctica to French Polynesia.**

The whales make this journey to give birth to their calves. They will then mate for the following year in the warm, tranquil waters that Tahiti is famous for. Our highly trained and educated staff will guide you as you observe the whales performing a variety of activities.

You will most likely see the female whales swimming alongside their newborns, as they train and protect their young. You will see the whales playing and socializing in their natural environment. If conditions are ideal, you may also have the opportunity to snorkel and swim with these majestic creatures.

Keawai takes great pride in respecting and complying with the French Polynesian laws and safety standards that regulate the approach and interaction permitted with whales.

Our goal at Keawai is to share our passion for marine-life with you. Our expert team does their best to provide you with whale encounters. Unfortunately, this cannot be guaranteed due to the inherent nature of free and wild animals.

Good Private Whale Watching

The wind was blowing very hard the day we tried to swim with the whales. we did see some whales but with the weather conditions, we were unable to see them under the water. The crew tried their best but just wasn't our day. Keep in mind that this could happen when making your plans.
