A Green Day

In May and June, our staff had the privilege of participating in the Green Day Tour at the IC Thalasso Hotel, an inspiring experience dedicated to exploring environmental installations. The tour was spread over three half-day visits, allowing our team to delve deeply into the various sustainable practices implemented at the hotel.

Exploring Environmental Installations

Our journey began with a detailed exploration of the hotel’s environmental installations. We discovered the meticulous processes involved in waste sorting and management. The hotel’s commitment to reducing waste and promoting recycling was evident in every aspect of its operations. It was enlightening to see how each type of waste is carefully sorted, ensuring recyclable materials are efficiently processed while minimizing non-recyclable waste.

A Walk Through the Garden and Vegetable Patch

Next, we embarked on a delightful tour of the hotel’s garden and vegetable patch. The lush greenery and vibrant flora highlighted the hotel’s dedication to sustainable landscaping. The vegetable patch, brimming with fresh produce, showcased the hotel’s efforts to incorporate organic and locally grown ingredients into their culinary offerings. This part of the tour emphasized the importance of self-sufficiency and the benefits of growing your own food.

Understanding the SWAC System

One of the most fascinating aspects of the Green Day Tour was the visit to the SWAC (Sea Water Air Conditioning) system. This innovative system uses the cold temperatures of deep-sea water to provide air conditioning for the hotel, significantly reducing energy consumption and environmental impact. Our staff were amazed by the ingenuity of this system and the substantial energy savings it offers.

Harnessing Solar Power and Sustainable Water Bottling

The tour continued with an exploration of the hotel’s solar panels and bottling station. The extensive array of solar panels demonstrated the hotel’s commitment to harnessing renewable energy sources. By utilizing solar power, the hotel not only reduces its carbon footprint but also promotes a cleaner, greener future. Additionally, the bottling station showcased how the hotel produces its own bottled water, reducing plastic waste and ensuring a sustainable supply of drinking water for guests.

A Day of Enlightenment and Inspiration

The Green Day Tour at the IC Thalasso Hotel was an incredibly enriching experience for our staff. It provided valuable insights into the practical applications of sustainable practices in the hospitality industry. The dedication and innovation demonstrated by the hotel in their environmental initiatives were truly inspiring. This day of awareness left a lasting impression on our team, motivating us to incorporate more eco-friendly practices in our own operations.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the IC Thalasso Hotel for hosting us and providing such a comprehensive and enlightening tour. The Green Day Tour not only educated us on the importance of sustainability but also reinforced our commitment to protecting the environment for future generations.
