Private Lagoon Fishing in Bora Bora
Beginner or experienced, this Bora Bora sport fishing charter is perfect for all skill levels
Lagoon fishing in Bora Bora is a passion as well as a lifestyle in French Polynesia. You will see this passion reflected in scenes of daily life as freshly caught fish is sold all along the roadside, and offered at every restaurant and local snack stop around the island.
The lagoon and the ocean are the foster mothers of each Polynesian. You will often see scenes of daily life turned towards the sea (sale of fish by the roadside).
The calm waters of Bora Bora’s lagoon will allow you to fish quietly and privately with the skilled assistance of our guides. Our local guides love to share their knowledge and experience, as well as the richness that the Polynesian waters have to offer. Let us show you the best spots to fish in Bora Bora.
The most popular lagoon fish to catch are generally jack fish, rainbow fish, small barracudas, and lagoon bonito.
The size of the fish varies from 0.5 lb. (250 g) to 10 lb. (5 kg). You may be surprised though by a jack fish weighing over 30 lbs.
Concerned about the marine resources, “catch and release” is welcome. Just explain how you see things to the captain of the boat, he will adapt accordingly.
This activity accommodates a maximum of two people and the boats are equipped with a cover to protect you from the sun.
We advise you to wear light and comfortable clothes, not to mention a cap, high protection sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, a camera, and a light raincoat. A downpour can quickly spoil your fun if you are wet and cold on the boat.
Bora Bora fishing equipment provided: lures in orange, pink, white, yellow.
Equipment used: we typically use Camry GP 3 500 with 10 lb. test, Penn 450 SS with 16 lb. test.
